Medical examiner arrives on rural road south of Brooklyn

MONTEZUMA, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The State Medical Examiner's vehicle has arrived on a rural road south of Brooklyn.

A DOT truck is blocking the gravel road south of Interstate 80, but KCCI says they have seen law enforcement officers in the area.

TV9 tried to use our drone, but there is currently a flight restriction in the area.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says a press conference will be held at 4 p.m. in Montezuma regarding the search for Tibbetts.

The press conference will be held at the sheriff's office.

Officials won't confirm anything right now, but say a significant amount of information will be shared.

Mitch Mortvedt says a body was found this morning in Poweshiek County, but they haven't identified who it is yet.

Richard Rahn, a spokesperson for the Iowa DCI said they are not commenting on an ongoing investigation.

Tibbetts was last seen in Brooklyn on July 18.

She is a 20-year-old student at the University of Iowa.
