52 years after his death, former U.S. President Herbert Hoover is still an inspiration to many Iowans.

Hoover was honored during a gravesite memorial on Thursday afternoon in West Branch, exactly 52 years after his passing on October 20, 1964.

Dozens of students, historians, park rangers and even Hoover's great grandson attended the hour-long ceremony. Hoover was remembered as not only our 31st President, but also as a great humanitarian who helped to feed people around the world during his lifetime.

A wreath of remembrance was laid at his grave from Washington D.C.

Catch the sights and sounds of the ceremony tonight on the KCRG-TV9 News at 6 p.m.
