Back on January 24, 2018, someone reported to Waterloo Police that they hadn't heard from Lakisha Williams, formerly Lakisha Owens, in three days. Officers found her body on January 26, 2018 in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. An autopsy showed her cause of death was homicide.
On Wednesday, police arrested Fredrick NMN Williams for first degree murder and abuse of a corpse in connection to his wife's death. Williams was already serving time at the Clarinda Correctional Facility for violating his parole for a first degree robbery charge in 2014.
