A Cedar Rapids woman was shot to death over the weekend, according to the State Medical Examiner's Office which conducted an autopsy Tuesday.

A Cedar Rapids Police spokesman said the State Medical Examiner ruled 18-year-old AnnaElise Edgeton (McMann) was killed by a gunshot wound and ruled the death a homicide.

Loved ones told TV9 Edgeton was recently married. Police on Saturday morning found her dead inside an apartment at 316 Jacolyn Drive.

Family members said Edgeton, previously McMann, was married in 2017.

The teen had missed time at work, which helped prompt a welfare check by authorities.

Police have not said if they have any suspects.

Be sure to stay with TV9 for more updates as they come in.
