UPDATE: Police find shell casings at scene of shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Cedar Rapids Police said an 18-year-old male suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg from a shooting incident Monday night.

Police said it happened about 7:25 p.m. in the parking lot of the Aspen Inn, 3233 South Ridge Drive SW. Officers found shell casings there.

Officers said they found the male victim at the Quality Inn at 390 33rd Avenue SW.

Police have not said if they have a suspect and have not yet made any arrests.

The shooting is still under investigation.

Emergency crews took a man to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his leg following a shooting, according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
