A Cedar Falls man is facing attempted murder charges after police said he stabbed two people at the University Avenue Studios Monday afternoon.

Police about 4:35 p.m. responded to 4711 University Avenue on reports of a stabbing that had just happened. Officers said a suspect had attacked two people with a knife in the parking lot of the hotel. Investigators said the suspect apparently chose the victims at random.

Police arrested 28-year-old Adam Jacobsen of 4711 University Avenue #18 on two counts of attempted murder. Officers said Jacobsen repeatedly stabbed 62-year-old Jeffery Miller, then repeatedly stabbed 47-year-old Denice Bennett. Emergency crews took Miller to a hospital with potentially life threatening injuries. They took Bennett to the hospital with multiple serious injuries.

Attempted murder is a Class B Felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
