A Southwest flight made an emergency landing in Cedar Rapids because of a medical issue involving someone on the plane.
Pam Hinman with the Eastern Iowa airport told TV9 tonight that the plane had to make what's called a medical diversion. The tower in Cedar Rapids was notified this was going to happen at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
The plane landed safely.
Southwest Airlines does not operate in the Eastern Iowa airport.
