DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) -- Overnight closures for a construction project on a part of Highway 20 in Dubuque will begin Wednesday night after this week's snowstorm delayed the work.

The Iowa Department of Transportation is transporting girders for a bridge that will go over the highway just south of Menards.

From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., all eastbound traffic will take a detour onto North Cascade Road. The work won't affect westbound traffic.

Iowa DOT resident construction engineer Hugh Holak said this work will take five or six nights. However, he will evaluate each morning if work can continue based on the weather.
