One person dead, two injured after crash in rural Dubuque County

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) UPDATE: The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office says Hannah Ruggeberg, 20, of Bellevue, was killed in the crash.

A 69-year-old man received minor injuries, and a three-year-old girl was airlifted with serious injuries.

The sheriff's office says the crash happened when a driver was going north in the southbound lane, and struck the other vehicle head-on.

A two-vehicle accident in rural Dubuque County resulted in the death of one of the vehicle's drivers and caused two other injuries, according to law enforcement.

At around 6:34 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office received a report of a crash with injuries along U.S. Highway 52 near Bradel Cove, south of Dubuque.

Emergency responders discovered two vehicles involved in the crash upon arrival. One of the drivers of a vehicle in the crash was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance with injuries. No word on their condition was available.

Key West EMS assisted with the emergency response.

The accident remains under investigation.
