The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to an early morning shooting on the northwest side of Cedar Rapids. Sheriff’s deputies say it happened at 1414 Sisley Grove Rd NW around 3:26 a.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they say there was a 44-year-old man found suffering from two gunshot wounds.

The Sheriff’s Office says detectives are currently questioning one suspect who was taken into custody at the residence. Officials say the shooting victim suffered serious injuries, and was first transported by ambulance to the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Later, officials say the Cedar Rapids man was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Because of the investigation, authorities say they are withholding the identities of the victim and suspect.
