An Iowa firefighter hurt while battling a fire in January received a donation of more than $1,000.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Camanche, the Camanche Fire Department sold red lights and other donations to raise money for firefighter Adam Cain.

He was presented with a check on Sunday.

Cain, 23, was seriously hurt when a grain-silo exploded at the Clinton ADM plant on Jan. 5. Another firefighter, Lt. Eric Hosette, 33, was hurt in the explosion. He died from his injuries at Mercy Hospital.

Cain was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment. He was released Jan. 25.
