Marshalltown shelters see increased need after tornado

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (WOI) - Marshalltown has continued to see an increased need for shelters after an EF-3 tornado ripped through the town in July.

The House of Compassion is just one of many shelters in the area seeing an increase in need. They help homeless, low-income families, and flood victims year-round with necessities.

Since the tornado in July, more than 900 families have joined the network.
