MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (KCRG) - The City of Marshalltown is looking to fix a major building in their downtown after age and the July tornado damaged it.

The Veterans Memorial Coliseum opened in 1929 to honor the lives of those lost in the Spanish American War, the Civil War and World War I.

Those organizing the fundraising campaign said on Thursday they were already planning to renovate the building before the tornado hit last summer. They're looking to raise $1.35 million.
