Maquoketa Caves named Best Iowa Attraction

JACKSON COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - The votes are in, and Maquoketa Caves State Park is the 2017 Readers' Choice for Best Iowa Attractions. It's part of an annual poll by USA Today.

More than 150 thousand people come to the park to check out the caves every year.

In all, people can find walk trails and explore 13 caves. That's more caves within a state park than in any other state park in the country.

Rounding out the top five was the Surf Ballroom and Museum in Clear Lake, the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum in Walcott, the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque and the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend.
