Man fails to return to Linn County jail after court-ordered furlough

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - An inmate in the Linn County correctional system failed to return to custody after being let out on a court-ordered furlough, officials said Wednesday.

Jason Allen Mally was released at 9:00 a.m. from the Larry Nelson Center, an alternative jail site that allows easier work release. He was expected to return at 3:00 p.m., but did not show up.

Mally is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 215 pounds. He is serving time for driving while barred and possession of a controlled substance.
