CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A man has been charged with sexual abuse after allegedly committing a sex act on an 11-year-old and locking her brother out of the house to do so.

Court documents say 38-year-old Walter Boyd from Cedar Rapids allegedly committed a sex act on an 11-year-old girl around December 11, 2017.

At the time of the alleged incident, Boyd was supervising the girl and reportedly locked her brother out of the house before committing the sex act.

The victim of the incident then called her mom and was taken to the hospital, where a sexual assault examination was done.

Specimens from the exam were submitted to the DCI Lab and criminalists were able to identify evidence corroborating the girl's account of the incident.

Boyd has been charged with 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse.
