Man charged after Sunday night chase in Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A man was arrested Monday after a chase in Cedar Falls.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports Cedar Falls police responded to the University Avenue Hy-Vee parking lot about a suspicious man.

When authorities approached him, the man later identified as 45-year-old Matthew Tarkett, drove off in a car with several officers in pursuit.

At 11:15 p.m. officers called off the pursuit when they could no longer find the vehicle. At 4:05 a.m. Monday officers were able to find the car and make contact with Tarkett.

Tarkett faces charges of eluding, two counts of reckless driving and multiple traffic violations after the incident Sunday night.
