WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) -- The Waterloo School District says eastern Iowans can help Lowell Elementary students with the transition to their temporary school.

Heavy snow caused the roof to collapse on Wednesday and the building won't reopen until August. Students will start going to class in a Cedar Falls building on Tuesday.

The Waterloo School District says anyone who wants to help can donate school supplies, plastic shoebox sized containers with lids and non-perishable snacks. The district will be accepting them at the Education Service Center in Waterloo during business hours.
