Light snow overnight as cold weather continues

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Our first widespread accumulating snow of the season is on its way, but it'll be easing us into the winter season.

Light snow develops overnight, winding down early Friday morning. Most places will get a dusting up to an inch, with southern Iowa possibly getting a little more. Scattered snow showers are possible Friday afternoon, but wouldn't add much to what already fell. It is going to turn blustery with gusts as high as 30 mph.

The next couple days will be cold with highs in the upper 20s to around 30. We rebound to the upper 30s Sunday before another cold blast hits us early next workweek. While it's going to be chilly, precipitation chances should stay away from us for quite a while once we get past Friday.
