Last Hope Animal Rescue delivering 'pup-a-grams' to people on Valentine's Day

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Last Hope Animal Rescue is delivering ‘pup-a-grams’ on Valentine’s Day.

A ‘pup-a-gram’ is a gift delivered by a puppy. Last Hope Animal Rescue is delivering more than 50 of them.

Ten adoptable dogs are delivering pup-a-grams and will go with volunteers to deliver the gifts.

The dogs are dressed in Valentine's Day gear with a red crown, a bowtie and some kisses on their fur.

Organizers hope this will help people learn more about Last Hope.

"It's a great chance for some of our adoptable dogs to get out and meet new people,” said Amanda Rushton with Last Hope Animal Rescue. “You don't realize it, but sometimes a different experience like that for a dog can be a good enrichment activity. Introduce them to new people, not environments, just lots of activities, lots of friendly dogs."

All of the ‘pup-a-gram purchases’ will go to Last Hope. They run 100% off of volunteers.

Organizers say they also have plenty of cats who also need homes.
