WAUKEE, Iowa (WOI) - WOI reports Governor Kim Reynolds doesn't plan on changing IPERS, despite claims from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Fred Hubbell that she does.
The retirement plan offered to state government employees currently averages at $17,000 for an annual pension.
"No, we're not doing anything," said Reynolds to reporters on Wednesday. "I want to be very clear. I hope you are all paying attention right now. That is a scare tactic...I am a recipient of IPERS..."
While on the campaign trail and during a few gubernatorial debates, Fred Hubbell has said Reynolds and Republicans want to change IPERS.
