Iowa man killed in two-semi crash

HARDIN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - A Zearing man is dead after two semis crashed in Hardin County. The Iowa State Patrol responded to the crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 20 at milemarker 170 around 3:30 a.m. on Monday.

The Patrol says a semi driver lost control and rolled onto its side. A second semi then crashed into the first semi, causing extensive damage.

Lucas Lodermier, 34, was pulled from the second semi. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger in the first semi were taken to an area hospital in ambulances.

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Iowa Department of Transportation, an area ambulance service and the Iowa Falls fire department assisted with the response.
