Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine will make his first visit to Iowa since becoming the Democratic vice presidential nominee.

Kaine will hold what's being called an "organizing event" at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

Kaine's event will continue a flurry of visits to Iowa by both presidential campaigns in recent weeks.

Last week, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton held a rally in Des Moines, and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has made stops recently in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport.

GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence also has held Iowa events.
