The Iowa Senate has voted in support of the medical marijuana bill.

This would re-classify marijuana from a Schedule I controlled substance to Schedule II. Schedule I means a drug has a high chance of abuse and isn't currently accepted for medical use.

The bill would allow the making and dispensing of cannabis products under doctor's order, but it would be highly regulated.

It now heads to the House.
