A group of Iowa National Guard members had less than 24 hours to pack their bags and say "yes" to a humanitarian mission to Puerto Rico.
These men and woman are military police and will help relieve Puerto Rican law enforcement who've been working around the clock since Hurricane Maria hit.
For many, it's their first humanitarian mission. While they don't know what exactly to expect, they're excited to be helping out.
Chris Hansen of Sioux City said, "There's people in immediate need of help right now and we're going to go and give them the help that they need."
The troops expect to be in Puerto Rico for a week or two, but say they'll stay as long as their help is needed.
