Iowa City student facing more charges for allegedly bringing knives to school

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) -- An Iowa City student is facing additional charges after police say he brought knives to school.

In all, the juvenile student is charged with Carrying Weapons, Going Armed with Intent and Threats of Terrorism. The incident happened on May 8 at South East Junior High School in Iowa City.

Police say students and staff alerting officers was key to preventing a violent act from happening.
