IOWA CITY (KCRG) - The Iowa City Fire Department responded to a report of a fire alarm activated on the University of Iowa Campus Wednesday afternoon.
Crews were called to Trowbridge Hall at 2:55 p.m. for a fire in one of the laboratories.
The fire was able to be extinguished with an extinguisher and authorities say 17 fire personnel responded to the alarm.
The fire started in laboratory equipment and then spread to nearby combustibles, causing light smoke damage on the fire floor and fire damage was only near the area where the fire began.
Crews were assisted by the University of Iowa Police, the University of Iowa Fire Safety, University of Iowa Facilities, and Johnson County Ambulance.
