A much anticipated project that will close the Highway 965 bridge over the Iowa River in Johnson County is set to begin on Tuesday.
Johnson County officials said the bridge will be completely closed for up to three months while the repair work is completed.
The county was forced to schedule repairs after the bridge failed an inspection in May. The bridge was immediately shut-down to one lane at that time and a plan to fix the bridge was crafted.
Officials said they hope to reopen the bridge completely by the end of November, but weather could delay the project.
