CLINTON, Iowa (KCRG) - Hundreds gathered in Clinton Saturday to honor Lt. Eric Hosette, the Clinton firefighter killed on January 5th while battling a fire at Clinton's ADM plant when a grain-silo exploded.

Family members, friends, and the community remembered Lt. Hosette during a public memorial at Clinton's Riverview Bandshell. Also in attendance: firefighters from across the country.

To help provide emergency services, the Hiawatha fire department and other departments sent crews to the Quad Cities area so colleagues could attend Saturday morning's service.

In a Facebook post Saturday, the Hiawatha Fire Department said it had sent Engine 284 to Camanche to help provide coverage, along with Bettendorf Engine 4.

Hosette is survived by his wife and young daughter. He was 33.
