CEDAR RAPIDS (KCRG) - June is traditionally the wettest month of the year around eastern Iowa. This June definitely didn’t disappoint as Cedar Rapids is pushing 9” of rainfall officially for the month.
The first eight days of June were pretty uneventful with little to no rainfall in the area. A few large storm complexes affected the area on June 9th which caused flash flooding. The highlight of the rainfall this month definitely has come from the totals in the June 18th-22nd time frame with over 5” of rainfall occurring. More rainfall is expected to develop this afternoon adding to the already high total for the month.
