Girls Who Code wraps up semester in Iowa City
The University of Iowa Girls Who Code club wrapped up its semester of work today.
Eight middle school girls worked to create a website, doing all coding on their own. Their project focuses on healthy foods.
The girls researched foods from around the world to figure out which ones are healthiest. Girls say they'll use their knowledge of coding in the future.
"It had a game and a quiz, so that's pretty fun. And we picked food because we all really like food," Audrey Tosh said.
Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit. Its goal is to get more girls involved in technology industries.
