An Arkansas judge has sentenced a former University of Northern Iowa professor to 95 years in prison for sexual abusing children and child pornography.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports 77-year-old John Clifford Longnecker pleaded guilty to rape, sexual assault, possesion of child pornography, and engaging children in sexual conduct for use in visual medium.

Longnecker will have to serve about 50 years before he will be eligible for parole.

Longnecker worked at UNI for 33 years as a math and computer faculty member, retiring in 2000 and moving to Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Court records show police in Arkansas arrested Longnecker in July after four girls, ages 5 to 8, said he fondled them.

Investigators found an image of a 10-year-old girl posing nude on his computer, and later found evidence he filmed himself abusing children.
