Firefighters rescue unconscious woman from Cedar Falls home

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) -- Cedar Falls firefighters pulled an unconscious woman from a home during a fire Thursday evening.

The fire started in the basement of a home at 2216 Victory Drive about 5 p.m. When firefighters and police arrived they found two cats and other pet supplies in a locked idling car. Authorities forced their way into the home which was also locked. They found Melissa Jensen, 42, unconscious near the door to the home. She went to a Waterloo hospital. Her condition hasn't been released.

Police say they have responded to over a dozen calls for service to this home in recent years.
