CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - A fire that killed a number of livestock and destroyed a barn was still smoldering Sunday morning.

Cedar Falls firefighters said the fire was reported about 6:15 p.m. Saturday in the 8600 block of West First Street, about a mile west of the city limits.

Firefighters had to haul in water to fight the blaze. Fire Chief John Bostwick says the barn was a total loss and the animals inside died.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one was injured in the fire.
