Finalists for the April Student of the Month

Here are the finalists for the April KCRG-TV9 Student of the Month, sponsored by Hills Bank and Trust:

Toby Giesemann, Senior at Bellevue

– Toby is President of Student Council, is a member of the National Honor Society, President of Future Business Leaders of America and Bellevue Big. He recently organized a meal for veterans and a donkey basketball fundraiser. Outside of school, he is part of the PBnJ philanthropy board, Bellevue’s hometown Pride and Sons of the American Legion, along with working part time at a restaurant.

Taryn Moser, 3rd grade at MFL Mar Mac

– Taryn’s teachers say she is a top student, an outstanding reader and writer, and has performed in 11 theater shows in 4 years. She is on the student advisory group, leads Kindness Week events, is an usher for school events and organized “High-Five Friday” where older students and community leaders high-five elementary students as they walk in the building. Taryn’s father was injured in a ski accident and she used her free time at school to make wuggle pets for her entire family to use to grieve.

Jaxon Mullinnix, Senior at Lone Tree

– Jaxon’s teachers describe him as self-driven, hardworking and resourceful with a 4.0 GPA. He’ll earn 60 college credits and an associate’s degree before graduating high school. He won the Hills Bank Outstanding Youth Scholar for the region this year that allowed him to be part of the National Council. Jaxon is part of the Student Leadership Team and sits in on school board meetings, too, to speak for the student body. He is chapter president of FFA, vice president of the National Honor Society and plays on the golf team. Jaxon has also organized meal packing efforts and worked as international intern for the World Food Prize.
