Eastern Iowa couple killed in Florida motorcycle crash

Authorities said a Norway couple was killed following a crash on a Flordia interstate, Friday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 59-year-old Bruce Petrzelka was riding a motorcycle with his wife, 56-year-old Virginia Petrzelka.

The Iowa couple was heading north on Interstate 75 in Sarasota County when the driver lost control of the motorcycle, law enforcement said. The two were thrown from the vehicle.

Highway Patrol said in a news release, both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Cedar Hills Community Church, in Cedar Rapids, mourned the loss, Saturday. The church posted to its Facebook page the Petrzelkas "‪were much beloved Cedar Hills members."

"We don’t know any more details at this time," the post read. "Please pray for their family and children!"
