CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Thursday was moving day for the Eastern Iowa Health Center in Cedar Rapids.
The health center, which is located at 1201 3rd Avenue southeast, is closed Thursday and Friday for the big move. It recently underwent a nearly $2 million renovation.
The center currently serves 40,000 low-income patients a year
The center's CEO says it needed the renovations because it is serving more patients.
The chief medical officer said the center will work with patients as they transition from the old location to this location.
"There's going to be some confusion of who's supposed to be where, we'll facilitate that and have that transition go smooth," said Ursula Livermore, chief medical officer.
The health center provides pediatric and family medicine care. People who would like to see the renovations, can stop by an open house on October 29.
