CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A local shelter now has more funding thanks to a local nonprofit.
For its 10th anniversary, the ESP International Charitable Foundation chose to donate $20,000 to the Cedar Valley Humane Society (CVHS).
“CVHS’s work with the animal hoarding case, on top of their already-impressive rescue operation, is astounding. They stepped up to the challenge and have saved the lives of over three thousand animals this year – double their normal capacity,” Jim Rogers, ESP Charitable Foundation Chair said.
The ESP Foundation that was formed after the floods of 2008, is completely made up of volunteers from the company ESP International.
Each year, the 100% employee-owned company chooses to nominate and select a "Charity of the Year" that they focus on to hold fundraisers, donate, and volunteer with.
On Thursday the Cedar Valley Human Society received the funds after being chosen as the "Charity of the Year."
ESP International Charitable Foundation has raised more than $125,000 for local nonprofits in the Cedar Rapids community since they began.
