Dubuque Police issue warrant for Mother Nature

Police in Dubuque have taken the drastic step of issuing an arrest warrant for Mother Nature.

Citing the harsh winter, Dubuque police issued a citizen's arrest warrant for "criminal winter nastiness".

"It's unfortunate that we had to go in this direction but she's left us no choice," Police wrote on Facebook.

Dubuque police posted a wanted poster for Mother Nature along with the arrest warrant. In the post they note it may be difficult to capture Mother Nature before tonight's snowfall and offered some advice.

"If your vehicle is still buried from her Sunday antics and highjinks, get it dug out before it gets buried deeper. Condense your old snow piles to make room for additional tundra tomfoolery, and buy your darn salt now so every other post on Facebook isn't, "Where can I buy salt?" Go get milk, Dew and bacon now before it starts, so you don't have to travel when it's bad."
