Businesses are slowly reopening now that the flood threat in downtown has ended.

La Cantina on 2nd Street SE opened Friday morning and started serving customers lunch immediately. Employees said they worked throughout the night to get everything back to normal, then passed a mandatory health inspection.

Employees at Reds Public House spent Friday morning moving in alcohol, tables and chairs, which had been taken to higher ground last week. The business is expected to reopen by the end of the weekend or on Monday.

The manager at Reds Public House said she hopes that people in Cedar Rapids will generously patronize and support the downtown area.
