DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- People in Dubuque gathered downtown this evening to give their input on how they would like to see the Central Avenue Corridor develop in the coming years.
As designers piece together plans to revitalize Central Ave., members of the community came to give their input on things they would like to see in the area.
Suggestions included more parks, shops and restaurants, but many also said better and brighter lighting and other safety features.
Community members said they came out to the event to see the potential future of their neighborhood.
"I think it's very important that we as a collective come out and see what's going on and to be a part of it and give some input," said Alanda Gregory, who moved to Dubuque five years ago.
Later this week, designers will debut their 3D plans for the area so far. That will take place Friday at 12:30 at 1820 Central Avenue.
