Three injured in head-on crash in Fairfax

FAIRFAX, Iowa (KCRG) - The Linn County Sheriff's Office says three people were injured in Friday morning's crash on Hwy. 151 in Fairfax.

Deputies were called to Highway 151, just north of East Cemetery Road, at 7:35 a.m. Friday morning for a report of a head-on crash involving two vehicles.

The sheriff's office says a vehicle driven by David Garmaizumo Howard, 32, of Cedar Rapids, was headed north on Hwy. 151 when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Jennifer Johnson, 38 of Fairfax.

Howard's vehicle came to rest in the roadway, blocking both lanes of traffic. Johnson's vehicle came to rest in the west ditch.

Howard and a passenger, Samuel Voingee Howard, 30 of Cedar Rapids, were taken to UnityPoint-St. Luke's. Johnson was taken to Mercy Medical Center. Deputies say none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

The crash is being investigated and charges are pending.

A two-car crash is causing delays on Highway 151 in Fairfax near Cemetery Road, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

It happened around 7:35 a.m.

Dispatch said there are injuries but a medical helicopter has not been requested.
