COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KCRG) - Having a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit and driving nearly 100 miles per hour is a dangerous combination. But the Iowa State Patrol says it happened this past weekend.

Troopers in Council Bluffs said they stopped a man who took a breathalyzer test which showed he had a .237 percent blood alcohol level. The trooper also clocked the driver going 97 miles per hour on Interstate 29.

The State Patrol is reminding drivers to slow down, put down the phone, buckle up, and don't drink and drive.
