City of Iowa City rolls out larger recycling carts for residents

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - The City of Iowa City is rolling out larger recycling carts for their customers.

The City started giving them out to residents earlier this year but says all remaining households that haven't been given the carts will receive them between December 10-22.

People interested in receiving a cart don't need to order, reserve, or pick up the cart.

They will be delivered along with program information later this month.

The blue-lidded carts will be able to be placed at the curb when full by 7 a.m. on collection day.

The decision to purchase the carts comes after a $106,000 grant from The Recycling Partnership.
