CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - The City of Cedar Falls is making sandbag materials available to city residents, ahead of expected flooding on the Cedar River.

Sand and sandbags will be provided free of charge to residents at 1500 Bluff Street. The entrance to the facility is at the corner of 16th Street and State Street, and the materials will be near the scrap metal bunkers.

Shovels will be provided, but city officials recommended residents bring their own if they have one available.

Officials said the Public Works Department would answer any questions at (319) 273-8629.
