Cedar Rapids police make arrest in credit card theft

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (KCRG) - Police have arrested a Cedar Rapids woman in connection with a credit card theft case.

Police say within two hours of releasing surveillance photos to the media and social media of a woman using a stolen credit card, they received a tip that led to the arrest.

Officers arrested 48-year-old Sharon Maureen Halstead. She is charged with false use of a credit card.

Police thank the public for their assistance in this case.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in the identification of a theft suspect. The suspect allegedly used a stolen credit card to purchase items at several southwest side convenience stores on August 9, 2018.
