CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Fireworks vendors may soon find it a little tougher to set up for sales in Cedar Rapids.
City council members on Tuesday passed the first reading of an ordinance that will restrict fireworks sales to areas with industrial zoning.
The vote was 8-0.
The ordinance must pass two more readings to take effect.
Cedar Rapids City Council members will also vote November 28th on what’s expected to be a total ban on the use of fireworks anywhere in the city.
