Cedar Rapids Police respond to more than five dozen accidents Tuesday morning

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Police in Cedar Rapids responded to more than 60 traffic accidents following Tuesday's icy weather.

The police department said they received 283 calls between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday. Officers responded to more 65 accidents while road conditions across the city deteriorated. The poor road conditions caused Cedar Rapids Schools to cancel classes for elementary school students.

Officials said no serious were reported in Cedar Rapids.
