POWESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A Cedar Rapids man died in a crash after rear-ending a semi on Interstate 80 early Thursday morning.

A crash report from the Iowa State Patrol said a semi was heading east on I-80 around 12:22 a.m. The semi was traveling in the right-hand lane at a slower speed with its flashers on due to the snow-covered road conditions, troopers said.

The semi was hit from behind by a box truck east of the Brooklyn exit.

The crash killed the driver of the truck, identified as 20-year-old Michael Miller, of Cedar Rapids. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation, the state patrol said.
