BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A Cedar Falls man will spend up to 45 years in prison for stabbing two people in 2016.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports 30-year-old Adam Jacobsen was charged with attempted murder in the October 17, 2016 attack outside the University Studios apartments in Cedar Falls.

On Monday, Jacobsen pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary and two counts of willful injury causing serious injury as part of a plea deal. In exchange, prosecutors will drop the attempted murder charges.

Police said Jacobsen stabbed Jeffrey Miller 24 times, and Denice Bennett eight times. Both survived the attack. Bennet's boyfriend arrived during the attack and held Jacobsen at gunpoint until police arrived.
